Dispatcher Job Summary
This position is for an individual with experience in dispatching. Please do not apply if you do not have dispatch experience.
Tow truck dispatchers take calls for service, relay the requests to drivers, and monitor the progress of the tow. Using computer-aided dispatch systems, they keep records and prepare detailed reports of all calls and all communications with towing services.
Dispatchers are required to stay in touch with drivers on the road, using phones, computers, or two-way radios, so they can solve problems and answer questions. For example, they can tell drivers which routes to take to avoid traffic jams.
Required Experience:
- Experience/knowledge of the towing/trucking industry
- Service advisor experience
- Prior dispatch experience
- Ability to handle busy phone lines
- Courteous and positive attitude
- Strong ability to multitask
- Fluent in English
- Hard worker
- Strong attention to detail
Essential Job Duties:
- Schedule and dispatch trucks for vehicle orders
- Communicate with customers to verify vehicle ownership documentation and confirm schedule vehicle pick up
- Monitor and update vehicle orders in system
- Answer incoming calls related to dispatch and customer service
- Process and enter documentation data for incoming vehicle purchases into the computer system
- Prepare and review documentation related to the purchase
- Maintain contact with vendors and customers
- Confirm vehicle inventory information
- Work under time constraints
- Assumes other duties as assigned
